物質名詞與抽象名詞的分量與程度之表達： |
|
|
這兩種名詞都是不可數的名詞。使用不可數的名詞，有時候難免要表示出分量或程度之多少，如何表達呢?
有以下幾種方式： |

用
little, a little, much 等表示 "量" 的形容詞－－不可用
few, a few, many 等表示 "數" 的形容詞 (參閱p.220)。

用單位名詞
piece表示 "件數" 等。 |
|
|
|

piece of 表示單件， pieces of
表示多件。無論是單件還是多件，後面的名
詞都不可加 s
而成複數形，因為不可數名詞沒有複數形。

物質名詞是不可數的名詞，前面不可有不定冠詞，也不可有基數
(one, two, ...)；但可以用代表度量單位的名詞來表示數量的多少。其方式為： |
