表示 "逐漸" 等含義 ——
get / grow / become / turn / run / go (變成),begin (開始), forget
(忘記),remember (記得),die (死), finish (完成), find (發現),
rise (增強) 等的現在進行式不是表示 "動作的正在進行",而是表示
"逐漸" 或 "越來越" 或 "快要"
的意思。此種現在進行式,除了偶爾和 now
連用外,是不和其他的時間副詞結合的。如:
