未來完成式的用法：

1.

敘述將在未來某時已經做過或做完的事情：

(1)

In two years (= Two years from now) he will have received the degree of doctor.
(再過兩年，他已經得到了博士學位。)

(2)

I shall not see you in Taipei. I shall have left Taipei when you return.
(我在台北看不到你了。當你回來的時候，我已經離開台北了。)

By the end of the year your new maid will have broken all your glasses.
(到今年年底你那新來的下女就會把你的玻璃杯全都打破了。)

(4)

You will have reached Hongkong by this time tomorrow.
(到明天這個時候，你已經到了香港。)

(5)

We save ＄50 a month and we started in January. So by the end of the year we shall have saved ＄600.
(我們每月存五十元，並且從一月份開始的。所以到今年年底我們就已存了六百元。)

Go ahead and leave on your vacation. Don't worry about this work. By the time you get back we shall have taken care of everything.

"by＋某時" 是指 "到了某時 (已經…)"，其修飾的動詞常是過去完成 (進行) 式和未來完成 (進行) 式； by the time 之後接子句。其中的 by 均不可用 before 代替。

敘述到未來某時已有的經歷或經驗：

By the time you get a gray-haired old man, you will have seen much of the world.
(到你成了白髮老人的時候，你已經懂了很多世故。)

I shall have read this book three times if I read it again.
(假如我再看這本書，我就已經看過三遍了。)

What? He got married again? At this rate, he will have had a dozen wives by the time he dies.
(什麼? 他又結婚了? 按這個速度，到他死時會有一打太太了。)
