單元一：In the morning
想知道老美在早上起床後在常用到的片語有哪些？快來看看~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
今天先介紹5個片語，下次在介紹另外5個。
※crack of dawn
中譯~~~破曉
英譯~~~the moment when sunlight is first seen in the morning sky.
[例句]
During the busy harvest season, farmers get up at the crack of dawn and don't stop working until dusk.
在農忙季節，農夫從破曉就開始起床工作直到黃昏。

例句中的stop working 若改成stop to work意思相同嗎？
答案是否定的，stop working的意思是「停止工作」，而stop to work是「停止現在從事的事而去工作」

crack(v.)在英文有「裂開」的意思。dawn(n.)黎明，反義詞為dusk(n.)黃昏。因此有一詞組就衍生出來了，from dawn to dusk，意思是從黎明到黃昏，也就是一整天。這句詞組讓麻雀又聯想到另一句詞組：from cradle to grave，意思是從搖籃到墳墓，也就是一生。舉個例句：
He doesn't get an education from cradle to grave.
他一生從未過受過教育。
※not sleep a wink
中譯~~~從未閤眼
英譯~~~to get no sleep(or very little sleep)during the night.
[例句]
The Wilsons couldn't sleep a wink the first night they spent in their new house.
威爾森家族在搬到新家的第一晚從未閤過眼。

wink在英文的意思是「眨眼」，我們來學一個詞組吧~~~~~
tip somebody a wink 向某人以目示警
上面的tip是動詞解釋為「示意」，tip若當名詞可解釋為「小費」。
舉個例句：
John gives the waiter a tip after finishing his dinner.
強森用完餐後，給了服務生一些小費。

中譯~~~提提神
英譯~~~to stimulate into action
注意→這句idiom專門用於早晨剛起床後的那段恍神的時間。
[例句]
There's nothing like a good cup of coffee to get me going in the morning.
早上起床後，沒有東西可以比得上一杯咖啡來得讓我提神。
Charlie likes to jog every morning to get himself going.
查理喜歡每天早上用慢跑提神。

上面英譯中的單字stimulate有一個很像的兄弟，不要搞錯ㄡ
stimulate(v.)刺激
simulate(v.)模仿
千萬千萬不要混在一起！

中譯~~~賴床
英譯~~~to stay in bed late in the morning.
[例句]
On the weekends,many people like to sleep in.
週末有很多人喜歡賴床。
Tom chose to sleep in after staying up late the night before.
湯姆由於昨晚熬夜，所以賴床了。

這裡有好多東西可以講，首先不知各位有沒有發現，英文的賴床原來是sleep in，還真是想不到呢！再來，我們看第二個例句的stay up，這個片語的意思是「熬夜」有一個相似的片語，麻雀來介紹一下→to burn the midnight oil
照字面翻譯是「燃燒午夜的油」，也就是中國人說的挑燈夜讀，有趣吧！

你覺得什麼人會stay up，當然是夜貓子，那英文的夜貓子怎麼說？
答案是night owl，owl(n.)在英文的意思是「貓頭鷹」，所以中國人說夜貓子，外國人說夜貓頭鷹~~~~~~~~~~~~呵呵！
night owl的反義詞是early bird，這倒和中國人相同
中國人說早起的鳥兒有蟲吃，英文說the early bird gets the worm，是不是很像呢？
※sleep like a log
中譯~~~睡得很沉
英譯~~~to sleep very well
[例句]
Maria can sleep like a log in almost any place,including airplanes and cars.
瑪麗亞在任何地方都能睡得很沉，包含在飛機和車子上。

(1)sleep like a log的同義詞為sleep like a baby，無論是木頭或嬰兒，反正就是睡得很沉。學到這句成語，就不要再說sleep like a pig囉，老外不是這麼講得。
(2)我們看上面的例句：
Maria can sleep like a log in almost any place,including airplanes and cars.
它等同於以下兩句→
Maria can sleep like a log in almost any place, airplanes and cars included.
Maria can sleep like a log in almost any place, inclusive of airplanes and cars.
我們要介紹include的用法，大致有三種：
陳述句,(所包含的東西) included.
陳述句,including (所包含的東西).
陳述句,inclusive of (所包含的東西).
請注意位置和使用方式。
include反義字exclude用法雷同~~~~~~~~~~~

I think the reason why Shakespere (1)is acclaimed to be one of the best writers is because his great works on drama and sonnet .When it comes to Shakesphere’s drama , there are four main tragedy which can’t be ignored. (2)Macbeth , Othello , Hamlet and King Lear . Macbeth is a story about (3)ambition , the main character , who is a (4)marshal ,wishes to be king. And when he (5)spares no effort to reach the position , tragedy comes. Othello is a story about jealousy . Being black , Othello is brave outside but poor in the mind. He doesn’t have the confidence that his innocent wife won’t betray him. And thus trapped in Iago’s lies. In the story Hamlet , Shakespere reveals that revenge (6)leads to disaster. It sure is. When Hamlet killed his uncle , he himself also died later. The last story----King Lear tells us a story about family problem. When reading this story , (7)it strucks me that do I have the intelligence to (8)distinguish true love from false ones? Because false love is often (9)disguised with sweet words.
As for sonnet, Shakesphere was the first to bring the fourteen-line-poem to England. Poet after Shakesphere imitate the rhyme scheme and form from his work. Thus a new kind of way to convey poet’s mind thrives and affects million’s of people.
